Jacquelyn Sears - Head Coach

Hello. My name is Jacquelyn "Jackee" Sears. I am part of the Apprentice Program
as well as the Head Coach for the Special Needs Colorguard of America.I've
been with the colorguard for over three years now.

From 2001-2004 I was a performer for Flanagan High School's guard. There, I learned to to dance as well as spin equipment such as rifle, saber, and flag. 2005-2007, I was part of a wonderful yet intense organization called Boston Crusaders in Boston Massachusetts. This group gave me as well as other members, the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience every night.

In 2005, I was introduced to the director of The Special Needs Guard, Ellen Kleinert-Cohn. I was very nervous coming into the group as the new coach and not knowing anyone. Everyone in the guard treated me with much respect and would always give me their attention. Since then, I have developed a wonderful friendship with everyone on the guard. Friendships that I will cherish forever.

Working with adults with special needs is a positive experience! This group has taught me alot about myself and has opened my world with opportunities that I never dreamed of having! Patience, love, and understanding is the key when working with any group. If you have not had the chance to work with Special Needs, I encourage you to start. You will develope a friendship that will last a lifetime and the best memories you won't forget!

Help us bridge the gap and let's show the WORLD how great our Special population is!
